I think a lot of people discard their primers after theyre done. Too much liability to have something spill if they arent tightened using Thor's channel locks.

I used Oakey pvc cement on the drain...it was new, so I didn't have to use the purple cleaner. If I'm not mistaken, I believe Sterling warns against Plumbers putty anyway!

How are you gonna keep your hair from falling out? It’s inevitable right? Same with shower drains it’s a matter of “when” not “if”

It also worked great as a bulkhead on a 50 gallon water filter barrel, and the same for the 80 gallon waterfall in my koi pond.

So are you gonna have to unscrew? That drain a little bit to bring it up to the height. Because I don't see how you're gonna connect it if you don't.

As soon as you cut that drain hole you ruined the flood testing on the bladder and pan. I’m a contractor of 20 years and specialize in custom high end bathrooms and tile. That bladder needs to be cut on the inside of the bold screws bud. It also needs to run 12” up the wall, wrap the dam fully and be installed over the felt paper. The felt paper is for moisture coming from the outside In, not inside the shower out. I would fire my guys if I ever saw corners cut like this. It should also be hot mopped (if on the west cost) prior to flood testing. A true flood test is 24 hours of exact water retention. It’s amazing what some states let contractors get away with. I do like your building out a mortar was vs hardy, I assume this will be a marble shower?

Ignore the hate. This is genius. If in 15 to 20 years it needs to be replaced, im sure I could get this off from the tub hole, and replace it with a regular one.

Roughing in on an exterior wall is a big no no. I don’t know where that is but in Toronto Canada where I’m from, or anywhere that gets sub zero temperatures, that’s not allowed due to freezing temperatures during the winter.
